Date:
Speaker: Paul Beardmore
Read Acts 2
Paul made some great points:
– Jesus tells us to “ask, to seek, to knock” when we want to receive and Paul reminded that in a world of instant response, it is important to remember to be patient when we do.
– The Holy Spirit came upon the disciples when they were together praying in one place (Acts 2v1). This creates the conditions for a move of God.
– Expect the atmosphere to change after an encounter with God as we see in chapter 2
– God’s Holy Spirit is for us all, male and female, young and old (v17)
DISCUSSION
What did you take from the reading or the sermon? What questions do you have? What experiences do you have of being baptised in the Holy Spirit? How can we encourage each other to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and to be regularly filled? Hint: For me at the start of each day, amongst other things, I always ask God to fill me, empower me and equip me with his Holy Spirit
