Rick’s testimony

Did you know… Rick has had 3 heart attacks and 2 rides in the air ambulance! He loves Lucy, his kids, playing the guitar and Xbox!
Rick says, “I was dragged to church as a young child, but did not like it at all. About 13, I got invited to a church in someone’s house at Niton and it was there that I first made the decision to be a Christian and get baptised.
Unfortunately, soon after, I lost one of my best friends in a tragic accident. I couldn’t resolve this with God, and made a decision to cut ties with him and go it alone.
THE JOURNEY BACK…
I first came to Church on the Roundabout, in December 2009 because Reanne (my daughter) had gone a few times with Hannah (Murphy) and thought that I would like it.
I was still determined not to hear God, but didn’t want to stop my children going, who enjoyed it.
One communion service, I finally said to God, “That accident wasn’t your fault. I walked away. You were the solution all along… sorry”
I didn’t feel any rebuke or condemnation, rather God saying “Are you ready? I’ve been waiting” I said “Yeah!”
“LIFE BEGAN TO CHANGE”
Life began to change inwardly almost immediately. Soon after, I felt God say very nicely to me that it was time to get off my backside and do something for him… I’ve kept busy ever since!
Now my future is assured. I now know that its ok to be angry with God. It’s ok to tell him how we feel.
I know that throughout life’s highs and lows that God loves me (PS and you too!)
A PRAYER
Rick prayed a prayer, asking Jesus into his life similar to this one. Please consider saying it… It is life-changing! “Lord Jesus, I’m sorry for going my own way rather than yours. Thank you that you love me and died for my sins on the cross. Please come and fill my life AMEN”
