Wild Flowers

A big thank you to Jeff, Stephanie, Avril and Brenda from IW Greenpeace.
One of their recent national campaigns has been to see an increase in wildflower meadows, combined with a decrease in the use of pesticides. So when they came and asked us if they could plant some wildflower seeds in our community garden, it ticked all our boxes

1. We use the permaculture process, which is 100% organic, with the garden effectively feeding itself and certainly no use of pesticides or fertilizers
2. We recognise the importance of pollinators in the process of maintaining healthy ecosystems and a sustainable food supply. Wildflowers will massively encourage this. Plus they look amazing
3. It is a community garden and as much as we want our community to enjoy the food the garden produces, we also want them to be involved in the growing and maintenance of it

So based on this, Jeff and the team came down, completely weeded an area and planted a lot of wildflower seeds in various locations in the garden. We are now waiting in anticipation for the wildflowers to start appearing.
